A simple-minded peasant, Kabayan (Didi Petet), went to the big city at the urging of his friend and experienced plenty of funny incidents. He met Saribanon (Nurul Arifin) when he rescued her father during a robbery. However, things got complicated when Saribanon has a crush on him because Kabayan already has a girlfriend back in the village, Iteung (Paramitha Rusady). The movie is set between two very contrasting backdrop, the city and the village, and ends with the marriage between Iteung and Kabayan.
