Kabayan (Didi Petet) has to go through a lot of trouble to gain the hand of his
future wife, Iteung (Desy Ratnasari), because Iteung’s father, Abah (Rachmat Hidayat),
despises having a peasant as son-in-law. Thus, Kabayan is forced to find his fortune in
the big city. Aided by his friend Joni Kemod (Sena A. Utoyo) and his boss Nora Nori
(Novi Gawatini), Kabayan disguised himself as a city slicker who returned to their
village to propose Iteung for marriage. The story ends with Abah finally able to accept
Kabayan for who he is.
